Chinese carpets are very popular thanks to their unique three-dimensional (hand-cut) pattern and floral motives (characteristic for this type of carpets). These carpets are usually thicker, made of soft sheep wool of very good quality. The patterns of these carpets are emphasized by trimming the bristles, which gives the carpet texture and three-dimensional appearance. The flowering of Chinese carpets started around the 17th century, and the tradition of weaving carpets is very old, the oldest finds are about 2000 years old. The main source of carpet design inspiration are the symbols of rich Chinese culture - including dragons, vases, flower ornaments and created by developing trade relations of China with Europe in the 19th century, the motifs taken from Baroque, Rococo and Classicalism. Carpets with thick hair are also encountered -.the Aubusson carpets are woven in the provinces of Kangshi, Peking, Tianjin; there are also low-cut pure silk rugs for example Tianjin, Ningxia and flat woven French-styled Aubusson carpets.
